MTK-Series' Admission Criteria

The MTK-Series' Academic Advisory Council recommends authors who are planning to publish in our MTK-Series before submitting a manuscript to check whether their publication project meets the following criteria:

  1. The planned publication shows a clear reference to the series' subject as programmatically presented in the publisher's list ("We publish collected volumes and monographs that focus on the CRC's main research questions, meaning the materiality and presence of writing in nontypographic societies").
  2. The planned publication shows clear methodological references to the theoretical discussions within the CRC, contributes to the theory's development or includes exemplary results of its successful application.
  3. The planned publication includes no more than 350 pages and no more than 80 colour illustrations.
  4. The planned publication will be published OpenAccess and under Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 3.0 Lizenz (CC BY-NC-ND). Please take this into account in case your publication includes third party material like images.
  5. Before submitting a manuscript in order to be reviewed by the MTK-Series' Academic Advisory Council, the planned publication must be discussed with the persons in charged in the CRC's office. Also agreement must be reached beforehand concerning possible production questions such as printing details, image resolution or image rights.
  6. In case you are not a CRC member, we can not guarantee to cover printing cost grants or the open-access fee.
